A girl in South Miami-Dade shot herself Saturday afternoon, according to police, who did not immediately release further information.<p/> First responders rushed to a home at the 13100 block of Southwest 280 Terrace at about 5 p.m., when Miami-Dade police received calls that a girl reportedly shot herself.

A man was shot dead Friday morning in front of his West Miami-Dade home.<p/> Neighbors told The Miami Herald they heard several shots ring out early Friday in the mobile home community in the 1200 block of Southwest 131st Place. Surveillance cameras were spotted inside the development.

An elderly couple trying crossing a six-lane road died Thursday night in West Miami-Dade after being hit by car, police said.<p/> It was not clear where Carlos Morales, 86, and his 87-year-old wife, Consuelo, were going to when they were trying to cross Southwest 157th Avenue near 73rd Street, said Det. Alvaro Zabaleta, a Miami-Dade police spokesman. A 2000 green Jeep Loredo going north hit them. Its driver was obeying the speed limit, Zabaleta said.

Miami-Dade homicide detectives were investigating the death of a 3-year old boy whose body was found at the bottom of a swimming pool Monday.<p/> The toddler was found by a pool maintenance worker servicing a home in the 15700 block of Southwest 152nd Place, according to a police report.
