The days can be long for Mayelin Granadillo, confined to a wheelchair after a car accident in March left her a quadriplegic.<p/> She and her parents, who arrived from Cuba about two years ago, live in a tiny rented house in Northwest Miami. Mayelin's wheelchair simply won't fit inside the single, small bathroom. She has to be carried in.

I’m doing more and more portrait work using natural light and a reflector. Its rewarding to use so little equipment to produce images parents love. This little girl really made me laugh during the shoot. I had to bribe her with toys though, otherwise she would have taken my camera.
