Uncle Luke was just on 790 The Ticket with Dan Le Batard and Stugotz (audio coming soon) reacting to last night’s disastrous Miami loss in the Champs Bowl. He suggests UM “fire everybody” on the football coaching staff, bring back Art Kehoe and he would personally go and pick up newly unemployed Mike Leach.

We nominate Uncle Luke for a coaching job at The U. He has the passion and swagger to inspire, the familiarity with local talent to recruit, and the coaching experience to lead the team to victory.

Here’s the campaign poster:

I haven’t yet watched the documentary Sonicsgate, about how Seattle lost its NBA franchise to Oklahoma City, but liked this reference in the Capitol Hill Seattle Blog review of it:

Not since Miami got the once over in “Cocaine Cowboys” has a city been so severely called to task for the villainy of its representatives.

Miami New Times end-of-the-decade list names Cocaine Cowboys #3:

The very fact that a documentary could make a list of pop culture moments says a lot about this film. Exploring the shady sides of Miami’s ’80s drug culture, the film was equal parts entertainment and education — including a demonstration in how to cook crack. And if the forthcoming HBO show of the same name is even half as good, we might just have our first entrant for next decade’s list.

Dave is almost done with this year’s holiday card, and it might be the best yet.

That’s quite a compliment, considering the past two classics: rakontur Christmas 2007.jpg

Closing out the fall slate of ESPN’s “30 on 30″ series, “The U” drew the most viewers ever for a documentary on the sports cabler.

Airing Saturday night, director Billy Corben’s look back at the heyday of the U. of Miami football program drew a record-setting 2.3 million viewers. “The Greatest Game,” which aired last December and examined the 1958 NFL championship game between the Baltimore Colts and New York Giants, held the previous record at 1.8 million.
